JOB SUMMARY
The Volunteer Coordinator plans and implements a comprehensive volunteer program that connects more than 2,000 volunteers annually with Hope Ministries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under direction of the Community Involvement Manager, help plan and implement ministry-wide volunteer programs.
- Coordinate volunteer and community relations activities including: the ministry’s large and active M25 Volunteer Network; special events and projects; recruiting, scheduling and meeting groups; mission and volunteer fairs; volunteer communications.
- Provide community relations support and coordination:
- Leading tours
- Leading one-on-one and group volunteer orientation and training sessions
- Representing Hope Ministries through church and community speaking engagements
- Special event support
- Provide volunteer program administrative support, including managing digital volunteer documents.
- Participate in donor thank you calls and donor cultivation activities as assigned.
- Participate in the spiritual growth and Christian instruction of those whom Hope Ministries serves. This can include (but is not restricted to) personal mentoring, the sharing of Scripture and Biblical encouragement, and praying with program participants. This may be in a structured setting (i.e., a classroom or chapel), or unstructured, with individual clients as the need arises.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Spiritual Qualifications: Must have a lifestyle that demonstrates moral and ethical adherence to the teachings of the Bible and an expressed desire to minister to those who are poor, needy and homeless. Must agree with Hope Ministries’ Mission Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith.
- Education: High school diploma required; associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Nonprofit experience preferred, specifically with volunteer coordination.
- Experience in a highly productive office environment; customer service experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office; software aptitude and CRM experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Reports to: Community Involvement Manager
Hourly/Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time – 40 hours per week
