Assignment Location Center Campus

Job Function     

Safely drive Performers/Speakers to and from venues, airports, hotels and other locations as deemed necessary.  Assist with events associated with those Performers/Speakers/Dignitaries.

Job Responsibilities      

Safely drive and deliver the Performers/Speakers/to and from their destination in a timely manner

Assist with set-up and tear-down of events, including loading and unloading equipment and costumes, assisting with lighting/rigging/sound/presentation materials and set construction, as needed

Be available to Performers/Speakers at all times, in the event of last minute changes or emergencies, and serve as chaperone when assigned.  Interface with facility managers to keep them apprised of any changes or delays

Follow MCC Guidelines for the Use of 15-Passenger and other vehicles

Follow-up with submission of receipts and other expense related paperwork

Perform related duties as assigned


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to the Director, Cultural Affairs.  Takes direction on day-to-day activities from the manager responsible for the Performer/Speaker.


SUPERVISION GIVEN:     May provide supervision of Macombers as assigned.



High School diploma.

Preliminary Qualifications          

Previous related work experience.  Must have a valid Michigan chauffeur’s license.  Experience with events or as a stage hand is helpful.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

Must exhibit mature behavior at all times.  Must undergo a driver’s license check, and be cleared and approved by public safety.  Must maintain an acceptable driving record.  Must have knowledge of safe driving laws.  Must have the skill to drive a 15-passenger van and a 24’ box truck.  Must possess common sense regarding safety issues.  Must have the ability to work independently and able to respond effectively in emergency situations in order to resolve any and all problems.  Must be courteous and helpful when working with staff, patrons and performers.  Must be able to read maps and follow written directions.

Physical Demands          

Must be able to lift at least 30lbs. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.

Work Hours To be determined by the department, but not to exceed 25 hours per week. Schedule will be flexible and based on the needs and schedule of the institution. Will include evenings and weekends.

Position Level   4

Salary    $14.43 - $18.55 per hour (2022-2023 salary range). Maximum salary upon new hire $14.43
