Data Analytics Developer

Montclair State University seeks a Data Analytics Developer to oversee full development life cycle with Cognos & Tableau reporting apps.

DUTIES: Gather biz. rqmts.; anal., design, dev., testing and impln. of campus reporting needs using Cognos & Tableau; Identify data sources to build reports/dashboards/analytics apps; build and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Workato, ODI, and other intgn. tools to bring sources into ODS; Troubleshoot data integrity and quality between Banner, DegreeWorks, Workday, Slate, ODS; Build queries, views, and Cognos packages to support rptg./analytics; develop dashboards visualizations using Tableau;  Document rqmts, designs and data defns.; Develop and manage rptg. stds.; Implement guides re: devr. toolset; Manage updates and patches; Performance tuning of existing rpts.; Provide support and proper config. of prodn. and nonprodn. envmts.; Contribute to rpt./dev., end-user trng. and materials; conduct trng. sessions; Deliver Student Success Analytics rqmts. according to biz. processes and data needs; Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION RQMTS:  B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE RQMTS:  2 yrs of writing complex SQL, PL/SQL queries; 3 yrs of databases, warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes; 4 yrs of working with users to gather rqmts, dev. and implement rpts. and docmtn.; 2 yrs of ODI/Workato/SSIS; 2 yrs of Cognos product suite/similar reporting tools; 2 yrs of performance tuning SQL rptg. queries; 2 yrs of Oracle/SQL server databases; 2 yrs of developing Tableau/SAP Business Objects dashboards; 2 yrs of Tableau Server/SAS Enterprise Guide Server; 2 yrs of Finance/Student ERP systems; 2 yrs of advisory and analytics apps such as EAB Navigate or a comparable product.

During summer semesters, employee can telecommute but must report to office (150 Clove Rd., Little Falls, NJ) at least 2 days/week.  For all other semesters, employee may telecommute but must report to office 3 days/week.  Employee can telecommute, as described above, only if home is located within NY-NJ-PA Metro. Stat. Area.
