This is a full-time, 9-month instructional position in the NDSCS Culinary Arts Program. Job #2954214

Primary instructional responsibilities include culinary arts theory, laboratory instruction, and related activities. Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience in supplies and equipment used in culinary arts food production design, professional food preparation techniques, safety and sanitation rules, and practices and safeguards applicable to food handling, production, and storage. This job may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes and may involve travel to other campuses. Other duties include curriculum development & revision, student advisement, student recruitment activities, committee participation, assessment of student learning, and related departmental and college responsibilities.

SALARY: Starting at $57,440 commensurate with education and experience Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS Graduate from a professional Culinary Arts program (minimum of associate degree) Recent restaurant or food service industry experience Familiarity with the local/regional food service industry, including current and changing trends Excellent oral and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Motivated, self-directed, and able to work effectively and professionally with students and staff in a team setting Ability to articulate and support the two-year postsecondary college philosophy with a strong commitment to teaching and learning in a two-year college setting Current Food Safety certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire Willingness to obtain post-secondary teaching certification from the ND Department of Career and Technical Education Preferred Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Restaurant management experience Five or more years of work experience as a professional chef Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts or related field Recent college-level culinary arts teaching experience (3 or more years preferred). ACF Certification (CSC, CWPC, or higher)
