We are searching for a Social Studies Teacher for our Private School, Grades 6-12.

We are looking for someone that is experienced in Social Studies, and must be willing to teach Social Studies in a classroom setting. Our private school is small and the teacher would only have 3-5 students per class. We offer a very pleasant environment for learning and teaching. This position is for Full Time with Benefits.

Teacher’s Responsibilities (in the classroom):

Provide engaging lessons and instruction in the area of social studies, including Career Studies (job and career readiness class)
Drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students
Assess the skill level of students and aligns classroom goals and activities to established state standards (PA and NJ)
Implement rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
Teach inquiry techniques that encourage experimentation and alternative approaches to problem solving
Create a classroom environment in which students have access to subject-related materials that address their needs and interests
Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data to measure progress and use data to inform instruction
Differentiate the materials and instruction to meet the students’ IEP goals and learning needs

Teacher’s Responsibilities (non-academic):

Teachers must be able to work with students that are on the Autistic Spectrum
Teachers must be able to help develop the students’ social-emotional skills
Teachers must participate in school activities
Teachers must be able to work collaboratively with other teachers in academics and school activities or functions

Social Studies Teacher Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organized, flexible disposition.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in education with a specialization in English
Willing to teach English in a classroom setting
Valid Driver's License
FBI Fingerprint Background Check
Child Abuse History Clearance
