Job Summary: The Plattsburgh City School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Special Education to lead and oversee our special education programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities:  Develop and implement special education programs and services in compliance with state and federal regulations.  Supervise and support special education staff, including teachers, teaching assistants, aides, and related service providers.  Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to ensure the effective delivery of special education services.  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of special education programs and make necessary adjustments.  Ensure that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are developed, implemented, and reviewed in a timely manner.  Provide professional development and training for special education staff.  Manage the special education budget and allocate resources effectively.  Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in special education.
