Grade School Principal
Principal of St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School
Seward, NE
For 2025-26 School Year
Beginning June 1, 2025
St. Vincent de Paul School is located in Seward, NE and is in the Lincoln Diocese and is under the Episcopal leadership of Bishop James D. Conley. St. Vincent’s has a very small Pre-K through 6th student population, though the community is growing. St. Vincent’s has a strong tradition of faith, with four priests, a religious sister, a consecrated virgin and one current seminarian from our parish in the last 50 years. The population of Seward is currently 7,800 and growing rapidly. Seward is 30 minutes from Lincoln, and the community is friendly, and the people have lots of energy and desire to do great things in the Church and the community. The Parish is currently conducting a capital campaign that is a visionary plan.
The focus of our educational experience is to provide an encounter with Jesus, and to embed our faith in every school activity. Heaven is always in the forefront of our minds, and we help children to have this same vision. We strive for academic excellence to use the God’s gifts, using our academic knowledge to accomplish His plan, not to get a job.
We are looking for a practicing Catholic that has a spirit to evangelize and educate young people, and who understands that teaching is an art and can inspire and direct teachers to reach their full potential. The candidate we are looking for will exhibit good administrative and social skills to interact with parents and students, and the ability to communicate with the Pastor, who is the Chief Administrator of the School. The candidate also needs an understanding of financial principles, working with a budget and being a good steward of resources entrusted to the school. Even though the Pastor is the CAO, the principal runs the day-to-day operation of the school, caring for teachers, students and families, providing a spiritual and educational experience for all. Our focus is to develop a love for Jesus, discovery and understanding of truth, a desire to maximize potential, and a desire to love and serve God in the daily activities of a school day. We may be a small school, but we are disciples on a great and divine mission.
Candidates will need to provide documentation of a valid teaching certificate and proof of eligibility for a principal certificate for the State of Nebraska. To receive an application for this position, contact Msgr. Robert G. Tucker either by phone (402-643-3421) or by email (msgrtucker@gmail.com), or you can mail your resume (152 Pinewood Ave, Seward, NE 68434) and request an application.
